Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G already has a lot to say after 24 hours (video)

Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G is the new flagship of Samsung e after 24 hours of use we are ready to give you some first comments. It is obviously early for judgments, especially the final ones, but it is possible to start highlighting some merit and some defect which we will see if they are confirmed.

Galaxy S21 Ultra after 24 hours and how the Galaxy Buds Pro are doing

Lean packaging but there is a solution

The first novelty concerns the packaging which, as for the others Galaxy S21, it is lighter, leaner, because the charger is missing following a bit the path traced by Apple. But if you can’t do without this accessory, know that if it is ordered on Amazon is free.

Inside the box you will then find the usb cable type-c type-c, the pin for the SIM and the phone, with at least one applied protective film on the screen, almost invisible and which of course we advise you to keep as long as possible.

Exynos 2100 promises well, in terms of performance and consumption

The first pressing issue is logically theEXYNOS 2100. New production process, 5nm, new architecture, 1 + 3 + 4 up to 2.94 GHz, very similar to the Snapdragon 888 with only one prerogative: performance. In these first 24H of use it is a processor that flies, literally. Lag, a click, a hesitation, undoubtedly higher than the Exynos 990, are more than rare, an important change of pace.

On paper it is noted, running some benchmarks you can see a lower energy consumption and higher performance, for example comparing it to the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra where the improvement is palpable.

Regarding i consumption it is obviously too early to give a definitive judgment, being only in the second charge cycle. It has tended to drain the battery by 50% so far in 3 hours of display on, with 120 Hz active and full resolution. Not a lot but even here apparently a nice improvement compared to Galaxy S20 Ultra where it reached 50% in just over 2 hours.

Also there is the complete 5G connectivity (with Sub 6 GHz, mmWave support) where, either for the placebo effect, or for a lucky day with Vodafone, or for technical improvements present, has not given any problems yet. However, we will continue the tests to understand if it was a lucky day (usually Vodafone’s 5G in Milan goes at a moment) or if it is actually thanks to the smartphone.

Finally, how not to mention the fingerprint sensor below the display: larger, more responsive and precise, much more than even the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra to give an example.

Optimized photographic compartment

The photographic sector is obviously the flagship of this smartphone. 4 photographic sensors that offer versatility and quality in every field of photography.

The main sensor, 108 megapixel, is the new one Isocell HM3 that if on paper it is very similar to that used on the last Galaxy S20 Ultra, technically it has an improvement in the dynamic range that allows you to shoot in 12-bit RAW (instead of 10) exactly like Apple with the ProRaw. This sensor has phase detection focusing, so unfortunately not Dual Pixel technology which however makes its reappearance on the other sensors.

For the precision on the two 10 megapixel sensors with 3x magnification (equivalent to a 72 mm F2.4) and 10x (equivalent to a 240 mm F4.9) and on the 12 megapixel ultra wide-angle sensor that can thus be exploited also in mode macro.

On the qualitative side, it does not represent a particularly significant evolution compared to Galaxy S20 Ultra but apparently it seems to be going to file some of the weaknesses that we pointed out last year.

Few sacrifices, many gifts

Finding major flaws in Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G is really difficult, at least in the first 24 hours of use. For some, however, theinability to expand the internal memory via MicroSD given that, in spite of what has been done so far with the previous flagships, Samsung has decided not to equip the S21 series with this feature.

Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra is available for pre-order from 15 to 28 January and at the same time as the purchase and its registration on Samsung Members, you can receive the Galaxy Buds Pro (our review here) worth 229 Euros and a Galaxy SmartTag worth 34.90 Euros.

You can buy it on the official Samsung website or on Amazon with charger.
