LIVE Techno – South Korean tech giant, Samsungexpect sales of the Galaxy Z series which is also known as the line foldable phonecould surpass the sales of its current flagship series, the Galaxy S series, within the next three years.
The market conditions for premium-class phones in 2022 are known to be in a state of saturation, aka declining.
Even so, Samsung believes that innovation and changes in the appearance of mobile phones are needed to be able to redevelop the high-end mobile market.
“Three years from now, or to be precise in 2025, foldable phones will take a percentage of sales up to 50 percent of Samsung’s premium phones. In the future, folding phones will become the new standard,” said President of Samsung Mobile Experience Business TM Roh , as quoted from GSM ArenaSunday, August 14, 2022.
Based on data from the Technology Consultant, Omdia, there has been a rapid increase in the development of foldable phones from 2020 to 2021.
The increase even reached 309 percent in one year and it is known that there have been nine million devices that have been shipped by Samsung for its Galaxy Z series.
Interestingly, 7.1 million units apparently came from the Galaxy Z Flip3 and Fold3 series which were released towards the end of 2021.
