Samsung Ends Support for Flagship Galaxy Devices, Including S20 and Note 20 Series
Samsung has officially ceased system and security updates for a range of its older flagship devices, impacting millions of users still utilizing these models. The move, while anticipated, leaves these devices increasingly vulnerable to emerging security threats and without access to new Android features.
Historically, Samsung provided a defined period of software support for its devices.while security patches continued after major Android version updates concluded, the company is now enforcing an end-of-life for several popular models. This shift coincides with Samsung’s recent commitment to extend support to seven years for its newest flagship lines-beginning with the Galaxy S24 series-and six years for othre devices, raising questions about the fate of older hardware. Owners of the affected devices will need to weigh the risks of continued use without updates or consider upgrading to a supported model.
