– According to the industry, Samsung Electronics announced on the 26th at 3 pm the excess profit incentives (OPI) of its employees by business divisions such as device solution (DS), consumer electronics (CE), and IT/mobile (IM) reflecting last year’s annual performance. OPI is one of Samsung Electronics’ incentives. When the annual performance of the affiliated business unit exceeds the target set at the beginning of the year, OPI is paid within a 20% limit of the excess profit.

The ratio of OPI application is reported to be the highest in the IM division, which is in charge of the smartphone business, and the video display (VD) division, which showed strong sales of premium TVs. Employees belonging to both divisions receive 50% of their individual annual salary as an incentive. In addition, 48% of the management support department, 48% of the Global Technology Center (GTC), 47% of Samsung Research (SR), and 47% of the DS division were reported. The Gumi support division was reported to be 44%, the CE division 37%, the network division 32%, and the medical device division 11%.

The bonus payment date is the end of January (31st) every year. However, since the 31st is a Sunday this year, it will be paid in bulk on the morning of the 29th. A Samsung official said, “In this case, the total amount paid is around 3 trillion won, which varies by business division, but 6~9% of the total operating profit is paid as bonus.”

Samsung Electronics performed excellently even in the Corona 19 situation last year. According to the Financial Supervisory Service, Samsung Electronics’ sales of 23.26 trillion won last year, up 2.5% from 2019 (23 trillion won). In particular, operating profit increased by 29.5% (8,18 trillion won) to 35,95 trillion won during the same period.
