Samsung customers will no longer complain about the Korean processor

<!—->

In the last generation of this year’s top S20 and Note 20 models, Samsung used either its own Exynos 990 processors or Qualcomm’s Snapdragons 865. In Europe, models are sold exclusively with the first choice, and this has started to bother customers a lot.

Although Samsung has been doing the same for several years, this year the difference between the two processors is more pronounced, and especially from the beginning of production, the devices with Exynos were not sufficiently tuned, so some models overheated. There were enough complaints and a petition arose when European customers wanted devices with a chip from Qualcomm.

But Samsung probably doesn’t want to change anything in the established order. Although in the autumn he introduced the S20 FE model, in which there is a choice between the above-mentioned processors, but the more popular one is combined with the 3,000 crowns more expensive 5G variant. But customers should not complain next year.

The next generation of top S21 models, which Samsung is expected to introduce in mid-January, will receive completely new processors. Again in two variants, ie for some markets with a chip of Exynos’ own design, and for some with a Snapdragon from Qualcomm. But this time it shouldn’t matter.

Above all, both processors will be manufactured by Samsung, kHe won a tender for their production and thus defeated the competing TSMC. There were no more competitors, only Samsung and TSMC can handle the 5nm process, and that is exactly what will be the new Snapdragon 875. And not only him, but also the Exynos 2100, his alternative in the top models of Samsung.

We will have to wait for the details so far, not a single chip has been officially introduced, but from the previously leaked benchmarks, it looks like a minimally balanced duel, or rather a slight dominance of the chip from Samsung. This is confirmed by the tweet of Ice Universe.
