Salud launched new vaccination recommendations to control the measles outbreak

In order to contain the measles outbreak that has been ongoing since the end of August in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires and regions V, VI, VII and XII of the province of Buenos Aires, the Ministry of Health of the Nation updated vaccination indications for travelers going to areas with confirmed measles cases mentioned. The new recommendations are produced before the confirmation of new cases and the risk of dissemination to other regions of the country, which implies the great mobilization of the population that is expected during the summer holidays.

– –

These measures were adopted within the framework of an exhaustive evaluation of the dynamics of the measles outbreak that our country is taking; they are dynamic recommendations that may vary depending on the evolution of the epidemiological situation.

– –

As for the people who are going to travel abroad, mainly Brazil, the same vaccination indications defined for internal travelers visiting CABA and the municipalities of the four Buenos Aires regions affected must be applied.

– –

It is important to remember that to acquire a correct immunity, every vaccine must be applied at least 15 days before the trip is made.
