on November 24 and 25, 2025, the Dakar Museum of Black Civilizations will host the fourth edition of the International Salon of Algorithms, Sciences, Technologies and Innovation in Senegal (Saltis). A meeting placed for actors of artificial intelligence on the African continent.
thought and launched in Senegal, Saltis has established itself as the great Pan-African Mass of the AI, bringing together researchers, engineers, decision-makers, entrepreneurs, students and members of civil society around a common objective: to use artificial intelligence as a lever for economic, social and cultural development.
“This event was established as a major platform for reflection and action to trace together the contours of digital, scientific and technological sovereignty of the continent,” affirms Ndiaye Dia, founder of the Institute of Algorithms of Senegal and coordinator of the first editions of the show.
A continental ambition
Since its creation, Saltis has distinguished itself by its ability to bring together a diversified community from Africa and elsewhere. This year, more than 200 experts from all over the world are expected. Objective: to exchange ideas, debate and design concrete solutions together, aligned on the twelve strategic axes of the Senegal Vision 2050.
Among the key sectors explored: agriculture, health, education, energy, tourism and culture.Domains where AI can provide innovative responses, adapted to african realities.
Under the coordination of Wedji Kane, Saltis 2025 wants to cross a CAP.”This edition will be more inclusive, more concrete and more impactful,” she says. The emphasis will be placed on immediate AI applications capable of improving the daily life of citizens, while strengthening the position of the continent on the world technological scene.
One of the highlights will be the Challenge step, an innovation competition this year focusing on two major themes: intelligent management of global events (especially in connection with the Dakar 2026 Olympic Youth games) and increased tourism, with the ambition to enhance the Senegalese heritage thanks to immersive and intelligent technologies.
More than a living room, Saltis is a real co-creation platform. ministries, companies, universities, startups, NGOs, investors and international partners meet there to transform ideas into concrete, viable and sustainable projects.
For companies, this is a strategic prospect: to present their innovations, to meet partners, to expand their network and to conquer new African and international markets.
An Africa actress of her technological destiny
Anchored in the realities of the continent while remaining resolutely turned towards the world, Saltis symbolizes an aspiring, innovative and sovereign Africa in the field of advanced technologies.
Through this initiative, Senegal confirms its role as regional leader in digital innovation, while sending a strong message: artificial intelligence is not reserved for major powers, it is indeed also a tool for emancipation.
