Salmonella on eggshells in Biedronka. GIS warns

Research by State Sanitary Inspection showed the presence of Salmonella Enteritidis. Bacteria were detected both on the surface of the shells and in the body jaj.

GIS reminds that salmonella bacteria can spread to other surfaces. And consumption of the product without proper thermal treatment may lead to human infection and, as a result, to contracting salmonellosis.

“You should not eat the batch of eggs specified in this warning, especially raw, due to the potential health risk. It should also be remembered that bacteria present on the surface of the shells may be transferred to other surfaces through contact with contaminated eggs,” warns GIS.

The producer is Specjalistyczne Gospodarstwo Rolne Augustyniak Dariusz, and the eggs were produced for Jeronimo Martins Polandthe owner Biedronka network. The product is already being withdrawn from sale. Internal control did not reveal any inconsistencies in both hygienic procedures and laboratory tests.
