Salman Rushdie, Author of Satanic Verses Stabbed in New York

CHAUTAUQUA, KOMPAS.com – Salman Rushdieauthor The Satanic Verses or The verses of Satan who had received death threats from Iran in the 1980s was attacked on stage during an event at the Chautauqua Institute, New York, England on Friday (12/8/2022). Salman Rushdie stabbed on the neck.

Rushdie was immediately rushed to hospital by helicopter, according to police.

As reported Associated Press (AP), the perpetrator of the stabbing whose identity has not been identified has been detained.
