Salda Lake statement from Murat Kurum, Minister of Environment and Urbanization

Burdur Governorship announced that Salda Lake Special Environmental Protection Area 1/25000 Scaled Master Development Plan was approved by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, “The 1/25000 Scaled Master Zoning Plan prepared and approved by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization is a part of the Salda Lake Special Environmental Protection Area (SEPA). ) it covers all of them ”.

Minister Murat Kurum stated that with the work done, no construction is allowed on the lake surface and its surroundings.

The Minister Institution stated the following:

* We have prepared our master plan within the scope of our conservation-oriented works to carry Salda Lake and its surroundings, which we have declared as a Special Environmental Protection Area, which is one of the most valuable natural heritages of our country, to the future.

* As a result of the work, no construction was allowed on the lake surface and its surroundings. On the contrary, the densities and population projections in the plans approved by the district municipality have been reduced by 30%.

* With the SEPA announcement, some of the grievances experienced by our citizens in the surrounding villages where all kinds of activities are controlled have been eliminated.

* It is aimed to direct rural ecotourism activities to villages and to ensure rural development.

* Within the framework of the plan we prepared, cycling and walking routes that will highlight the beauty of the region were planned by preserving the natural areas around Salda Lake. The activities of the mines in the region will also be terminated.

* We will carry Salda to future generations in its most natural state with its white beaches and turquoise color with this work, which takes a holistic approach to Salda and its surroundings and aims to protect the water resources that feed the lake, forests, pastures and agricultural lands.
