Although he started from the second row, Arenas soon took the lead and in the third round he had almost a second lead over the pack of pursuers. But the Spaniard could not keep such a frantic pace, behind him it was mainly the winner of the qualification Fernandez, who determined the brisk rhythm.

This created a large leading group, on whose tail Salač also stood. The Czech national team started from the seventh row of the grid and with a good starting maneuver he stretched to the 16th place, but then he started to decrease in order and after the third of the race he took 24th place. In addition, it was clear that the performance of his motorcycle was not such that he could overtake someone.

In the meantime, a train of 11 riders formed in front of it, but the Japanese Suzuki fell out of it after the accident. The starting field was most often led by the Italians Foggia and Arbolino. Three laps before the finish, the Spaniard Masia lost the chance to succeed after the fall.

The conclusion offered a very dramatic battle for the championship. For the first time in his life, 19-year-old Foggia finally saw him. “A difficult race until the last moment, the best moment of my career for me. I’ve been worried all last year, now maybe I can tell everyone I’m back, “he said.

Salač had a problem with the brakes

Arenas consolidated his lead at the head of the World Cup to 18 points with the second place in the finish. Salač, who had five or six seconds worse than the elite at the end, finally finished the Brno race with a huge loss of 47 seconds in 25th place.

“I didn’t want to go to the pits prematurely in Brno, but relatively soon my brake started to fail in the race and I couldn’t accelerate at all,” said Salač.
