Salač had a severe fall in the Grand Prix of America, ending up in hospital

Salače was hit by a “highsider” when exiting the left turn. The Czech racer fell over the motorcycle and after a hard impact his gloves took off. He was treated directly on the track behind the barrier for a few minutes, then left the Austin circuit on a stretcher and headed for the medical center.

From the hospital, Salač then posted on the instagram his photograph on the bed with his thumb raised and his joints abraded. “Thanks for all the news. I will be back soon,” the native of Mladá Boleslav wrote in English.

The only Czech participant in the World Championships started the race from seventh place, at the time of the accident he was at the beginning of the second ten. Salač did not reach the finish line in the third Grand Prix in a row.

The race was restarted about half an hour after Salač’s fall, five more laps were to be ridden. In the third lap, however, there was a menacing-looking accident of three riders, including championship leader Pedro Acosta, who flew several tens of meters through the air after contact with rivals. All three riders were on their feet almost immediately after the fall, but the race was stopped for the second time and then definitively ended.

The management of the championship decided that the final results will determine the order that was on the track during the first interruption after Salač’s accident. The newcomer to the World Championships was thus rejoiced by the Spanish rookie Izan Guevara, who a few minutes earlier angrily dug up the seats in his team’s box, as he had to resign from the first place after the restart due to technical problems with the motorcycle. Italian Dennis Foggia finished second, followed by Briton John McPhee. Today, the eighth Acosta leads the standings of the World Cup by 30 points ahead of Foggia.

In the Royal MotoGP, Marc Márquez confirmed his dominance, winning the Circuit of the Americas for the seventh time. Behind the former Spanish champion on the hunt, the second Fabio Quartararo finished on a yamaze and secured the lead in the standings of the World Championships. Three races before the end, the Frenchman leads 52 points ahead of the Italian Francesco Bagnaia on the ducati, who finished third.
