Saint-Denis: the man who threatened LREM activists would be the son of an elected official

The incident introduced a slight tension in the municipal campaign in Saint-Denis. A young man of 21, arrested on Tuesday, must be presented this Thursday to the prosecutor of the court of Bobigny. He was referred for repeated death threats, slight degradations and contempt, and placed under judicial supervision pending the date of his judgment.

However, this man, accused of insults and threats made against the candidate of The Republic on the march Alexandre Aïdara and several activists, is, according to several sources, the son of an elected official in the city.

Elected candidate on the Communist mayor list

This municipal councilor is a candidate on the list led by the outgoing PCF mayor Laurent Russier (in 2014, she was elected on the list of socialist opponent Mathieu Hanotin).

The entourage of the town councilor simply indicates that, whatever the identity of the aggressor, “this does not change the fact that the mayor condemns what happened”. As of Tuesday evening, Laurent Russier reacted on Twitter, like other candidates and local elected officials.

Contacted, the elected representative in question did not wish to comment. The young man’s entourage specifies that he suffers from a “mental disorder”. Alexandre Aïdara refrains for the moment from any official comment.

LREM meeting under surveillance this Thursday evening

The candidate LREM had indicated Tuesday that the hooded man had come, alone, to attack his supporters twice. First, with “what looked like a cutter” in hand, an activist who was waiting in front of the campaign room in the city center. The latter had managed to get him to leave.

Later, he presented himself at the doors of the same room, without entering it, insulting the LREM candidate and his supporters gathered inside from a distance. “We filmed everything and we discreetly called the police, who arrived to arrest them,” said Alexandre Aïdara.

The latter is holding a meeting this Thursday evening, at the Legion of Honor hall. The precedent had been heckled. The town hall announces that the municipal police will patrol around the room.
