On October 2, elections of city mayors and elections to local self-government bodies will take place in Georgia.

Former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili said that he bought a ticket to Tbilisi for October 2, when local elections will be held in the country. On Monday, September 27, he announced this in his Facebook.

In his address to subscribers, the politician stated that “the issue of rescuing Georgia, survival is being resolved, which prompted him to take a ticket for the evening of October 2 to fly from Kiev to Tbilisi.”

“I am not doing this for myself, I have no personal ambitions and desire to hold a position, I really am not going to fight for this, but I am going to fight for our children to have a future,” he said.

In addition, the former president published a screenshot of an electronic ticket, from which it follows that Mikhail Saakashvili and Giuli Alasania (this is his mother’s name) will fly out of Kiev Borispol at 19.20 and arrive at Tbilisi International Airport at 23.45 on October 2.

Saakashvili headed Georgia from 2008-2013. After losing another election in 2013, he left the country. For almost six years the politician has been a citizen of Ukraine.

Recall Ukraine extradited to Georgia the former head of the Military Police Department of the Georgian Defense Ministry Megis Kardavu during the presidency of Mikhail Saakashvili – he is accused of torture and embezzlement of budget funds.
