The Olympic champion, known for her dominance in both the 5,000m and 10,000m events, completed the race in a remarkable time of 30:37.61 minutes, earning her first gold medal at the Japanese capital’s championship.
Cheybit outpaced Italy’s Nadia Patkkliti, who finished with a time of 30:38.23, and defending champion Jodaf Tsejai of Ethiopia, who settled for bronze in 30:39.65.

The 25-year-old Cheybit employed a strategic and consistent pace throughout the 10,000m race, maintaining a strong position within the leading pack alongside compatriot Agnis GITITITICHITICH, and rivals Tsejai and Patkkliti.
