Rutulis joins Eagle and Plēpi in a song about humanity

Five Latvian singers – Normunds Rutulis, Diāna Černe, Andris Ērglis, Viktorija Plēpe and Atis Ieviņš – united in a common song about people and humanity. His name is “See Yourself”, and a video version was also shot for the song.

The author of the music and lyrics of the song “Ieraugi pats sevi” is Diana Cherne, who was also included in her self-titled solo album, which was released a couple of years ago. Diana reveals that this piece she came up with… in a dream. “The lyrics and melody of the song sounded so clearly in my dream that when I woke up, all I had to do was write it down and find the harmonies that matched the melody on the piano. To this day I still clearly remember this dream, because I was surprised that that in my dream this song was sung together by several famous soloists in Latvia. I took it as a sign that this song should become a joint project of several Latvian singers,” says Diāna.

The studio producer of the song is Jānis Narbuts, Gints Purgailis played lead guitar and Diāna Černe herself played keys. The video of the song was created by Jēkabs Vilkārsis. “At a time when the world is changing rapidly and a person’s true values are being replaced by new and more alluring values, this song can be useful to Latvians as a reminder that, regardless of external circumstances, a person always has free will, choice and choice to listen to one’s conscience or collective conscience and act in accordance with it. The song reminds listeners that only the whispering voice of the heart, which points the true and right path, distinguishes a man from a robot.”
