Prime Minister Rutte warns that if the number of corona infections does not decrease, additional measures will be necessary. At his weekly Friday press conference, he responded to the almost 6000 new infections and the increasing trend of hospital admissions.
“The aim of the latter measures is to reduce the sum of the number of contacts. It is too early to determine whether these measures are producing enough results.”
He did not want to comment on whether additional measures are needed. “But if it doesn’t improve in the next few days, then we won’t escape it,” he says. “The next 72 hours are important. We’ll keep an eye on it.”
