In Russia, the largest institution for the production of secondary lead “Fregat”. It produced almost 25% of the total lead production in the Russian Federation, which is about 40 thousand tons of products per year.
“Fregat” stopped after it did not receive a license for the export of lead from the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, reports “Kommersant” with reference to sources.
In Russia itself, the demand for these products is extremely low. In this regard, other enterprises of the Russian Federation for the production of lead are also under the threat of closure.
It is noted that since the beginning of 2022, the plant has produced about 17.5 thousand tons of lead and alloys, and an export license is issued from May 15 to November 15.
On the “Frigate” they promise that they will resume work in a month. During this time, the management of the plant plans to solve the problem with the license and find new markets. Now the company employs 227 employees. They plan to transfer them to 2/3 official salaries.
