Second division Horn announced the 58-year-old Alexander Borodjuk as the new head coach on Tuesday evening. The 15-time ex-team player of the Soviet Union and Russia most recently coached the Kazakh team, before that he was assistant to Russia’s team bosses Guus Hiddink and Dick Advocaat for six years.

“We are very happy to be able to sign such a renowned coach for SV Horn. Alexander Borodjuk has gained enormous experience both as a player and as a coach in international football, ”said Horn’s managing director Andreas Zinkel in a broadcast from the club.
Borodjuk led the second division Torpedo Moscow to promotion at club level in 2014 and then had a short engagement at the Kazakh club Almaty. As a player, he was active outside of Russia at Hannover 96, SC Freiburg and Schalke 04.
