In July, the amount of free money in Russian families increased by 13.7 percent compared to June, reaching a mid-summer high in the past few years. This is stated in the research of the “Romir” holding.

After the purchase of consumer goods, including groceries, payment for utility services, transport and communications, the average Russian family has a record high – 28.3 thousand rubles. She can spend this amount on paying off loans, paying for large purchases or entertainment, or postponing.

Compared to July 2019, the amount of free money was 7.2 percent higher. This trend is explained by the fact that in July of this year Russians began to save more actively in order to increase their savings. They have dropped sharply in previous months due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Earlier, “Romir” published data according to which the personal inflation of Russians was four times higher than it follows from the official data. Rosstat reported inflation at 0.35 percent, while the study said it was 1.66 percent.
