Russian opposition leader Navalny: Putin is behind poisoning | NOW

Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny thinks President Vladimir Putin is behind his poisoning, he told German magazine on Thursday The mirror.

“I claim that Putin is behind the crime,” Navalny told the newspaper. “I don’t have a different version of what could have happened.”

The opposition leader fell ill during a domestic flight in Russia in August. He was allowed to go to Germany to be treated there. Investigators determined that he had been poisoned with novichok. “You don’t feel pain, but you know you’re going to die,” said Navalny of the moment the nerve poison started to take effect.

After weeks in Berlin’s Charité hospital, Navalny is recovering from the poisoning and is still in Germany. He has previously announced that he wants to return to Russia. “My job is to remain fearless,” the opposition leader said The mirror. “And I am fearless.”

Western countries are demanding clarification from Moscow, but President Putin’s regime denies any involvement. The interview with Navalny will be published in its entirety on Thursday afternoon.
