Laima Vaikule herself has not made any comments about these statements, but Vaikule’s spouse Andrejs Latkovskis has given them to Russian journalists.

“Maybe somewhere someone forgot to pay, I don’t even know. However, this is done by paid people – accountants, it is their duty. Laima doesn’t need to know everything about such things either,” said Vaikule’s spouse, who is also her business partner and producer.

It is said that Lyme is currently in the United States, where she is undergoing a course of chemotherapy and is being treated for an oncological illness. Neither Vaikule herself nor people close to her have confirmed this information.
