Russian doctor explained how often people lose their sense of smell with COVID

Most patients infected with coronavirus lose their sense of smell and taste. The chief otolaryngologist of the Central Federal District, head of the department and director of the clinic for ear, throat and nose diseases at Sechenov University Valery Svistushkin explained how often this happens. TASS reports his words.

The doctor claims that almost 80% of those infected with COVID-19 lose the ability to smell. At the same time, the symptom persists for a month, but it does not always indicate infection with a coronavirus and may be a sign of other diseases.
