The battle for the Ukrainian stronghold of Bakhmut, the longest and bloodiest so far in the war, is claiming more lives every day, with no telling who will win, the Russians or the Ukrainians.
“In less than a week -since March 6- only in the Bakhmut sector (our men) managed to liquidate more than 1,100 enemy soldiersirreparable losses for Russia,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in his daily address.
In addition, the Ukrainian soldiers defending that stronghold in the Donetsk region have caused “at least 1,500 casualties” to the enemy.

The Ministry of Defense of Russia, for its part, has assured that in the framework of the offensive operations in the last day Some 400 Ukrainian fighters on different fronts were eliminated.

Among the longest battles of this war are the fighting for Kharkov (February-September 2002), Severodonetsk (February and June 2022) and Mariupol (February-May 2022).
