Russia rejects Biden’s terms to negotiate peace in Ukraine

“I’m ready to talk to Putin if it’s really in his best interest to decide to find a way to end the war,” said Biden, who also acknowledged he did not see Putin’s willingness to end the war in Ukraine.

Biden further said that there is a more rational way to end the war, which is for Putin to withdraw from Ukraine. “There is a way to end this war: the rational way Putin withdraws from Ukraine,” she said.

In response to Biden’s statement, Peskov said Putin was indeed ready to have a dialogue to ensure Russia’s interests were respected. “The President of the Russian Federation has always been and remains open to negotiations to safeguard our interests,” he said.
