In turn, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Tatyana Golikova said that in November 2021, mortality in Russia increased by 17% compared to November 2020.

She clarified that of the total mortality increase this month, 100% is attributable to mortality from COVID-19.

Earlier, Rosstat reported that COVID-19 became the main cause of death for 58,822 Russians in October. In September, more than 40 thousand people died from COVID-19 in Russia.

Earlier, the WHO said that record incidence rates the coronavirus in recent days provoked the intersection of two strains – Delta and Omicron, forming a tsunami.
