In Russia, the heavy nuclear submarine “Dmitry Donskoy”, which is the largest in the world in terms of displacement, was withdrawn from the combat strength of the Navy.
It is reported that “Dmitry Donskoy” will be awaiting disposal at the naval base in Severodvinsk with two other submarines of the same project with the index 941.
The submarine “Dmitry Donskoy” was included in the fleet in 1980 as part of project 941. It is the largest in the world in terms of displacement – 48 thousand tons. For a while, the submarine was the largest in size (172 m long and 23 mm wide).
Earlier it was reported that the Russian submarine Belgorod, which is the carrier of the Poseidon torpedo, was found in the Barents Sea.
It was also reported that at the end of September last year, the French fleet escorted a Russian submarine, which was on the surface about a hundred kilometers from the coast of Finistère.
