US intelligence has received information that Russia is preparing a pretext for a new invasion of Ukraine. This was stated at a briefing by Jake Sullivan – adviser to the President of the United States Joe Biden on national security.

“Our intelligence community has received information, now downgraded, that Russia is laying the groundwork to be able to fabricate a pretext for an invasion,” he said.
According to Sullivan, the Russian Federation can do this through sabotage and information operations, accusing Ukraine of preparing an attack on Russian forces in the Donbas.
“We saw this scenario in 2014. They are preparing it again,” Biden’s adviser said.
Sullivan added that the White House would have more details about Russia preparing a pretext for an invasion. The Biden administration will be able to share them within 24 hours.
