Russia is preparing a special information operation against Ukraine

Russian special services again are preparing a new special operation. This time it is aimed at discrediting the military and political leadership of Ukraine

This was announced by the Main Intelligence Directorate (GRU) of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense.

The GRU reported that in the near future a large-scale information and psychological special operation will be undertaken for discrediting a number of representatives of the Ukrainian military and political leadership.

The smear campaign will be targeted in particular against a number of Ukrainian officials, in particular:

In the EU, they want a quick search for responsibility for war crimes in Ukraine

There is no consensus on how to do it

  • Serhii Shaptali, Chief of the General Staff of VSU;
  • head of the Security Service of Ukraine Vasyl Malyuk;
  • Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov;
  • the head of the presidential office Andriy Yermak;
  • Acting Chairman of the National Police Ivan Vigovski.

According to the intelligence, among other things, the campaign will involve “dropping” the fictional materials of the Ukrainian and international media.

The purpose of the new special operation is to sow uncertainty about Ukraine’s defense capabilities among citizens and international partners.

According to the Russian special services, it should lead to political instability in the country and reduce the trust in Ukraine on the part of the international anti-Putin coalition.
