The Russian Navy started exercises in the Black Sea today, RIA Novosti reported.
“About 20 ships with various purposes left the ports of Sevastopol (in the Ukrainian-occupied Ukrainian Crimean peninsula of Crimea in 2014) and Novorossiysk on Wednesday. The vessels worked to protect the sea and airspace of the Russian Federation. The tasks were successfully completed.” , said the country’s Ministry of Defense
“The maneuvers in the Black Sea region are part of a large-scale exercise by the Russian navy. Earlier, warships and planes began maneuvers off the country’s coasts and in areas of the world’s oceans of operational importance to Russia,” the law enforcement agency added.
“About 10,000 people have been mobilized for this purpose,” the defense ministry said.
