Russia has imposed restrictions on flights over the Black Sea and Crimea

Russia has announced that it has introduced a zone dangerous for civil aviation flights over the Black Sea and Crimea for the period April 20-24, according to operative information about the changes in the rules and the provision of flights (NOTAM), quoted by TASS.

In total, Russia has issued three NOTAMs, with minor differences until April 24. Three air routes in the Simferopol region above the Black Sea will be completely closed. At the same time, the area for flights over the Crimean peninsula is not closed, BTA reports.

As follows from NOTAM, in some areas there is a ban only for altitudes above 11,900 m, which is higher than the altitude of civil aviation flights, in others – above 6,100 m, and in some areas the areas above sea level are completely closed.

Earlier, the press service of the Russian Black Sea Fleet announced exercises held today, which involved more than 20 warships and boats, as well as six squadrons of fighter jets from the SJC of the Southern Military District, TASS notes.
