Russian researchers extracted the first batch of fresh water from sources that are allegedly located under the bottom of the Sea of ​​Azov. Now its quality is being checked. This was stated by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Marat Khusnullin, reports TASS Friday, July 30th.

“Today we were informed that the first batch of water was extracted from the Sea of ​​Azov. Now it is being checked for its condition,” Khusnullin said.

He added that all data on the quality of the produced water, as well as on the volume of its reserves, will be received by the end of September, when several more wells will be drilled additionally.

“I can say that we found water at a depth of 100 m, its quality is being investigated. Yesterday-today we took it away, sent it to Moscow to find out what kind of water it is. That there is water there – that’s for sure. The second question is to what extent. now we will drill a few more wells by the end of September, at the end of September we will have all the data, “Khusnullin said.

The Deputy Prime Minister also said that the water reserves in Crimea will be enough for the next two years.

“Now our reservoirs are full, we have a two-year supply of water. For the next two years, the water problem has been resolved,” he assured.

Previously Marat Khusnullin statedthat the exact volumes of fresh water under the bottom of the Sea of ​​Azov, which can help Crimea, and their distance from the coast will be known by July.

And the so-called head of Crimea Sergey Aksenov claimedthat by June “there will already be a full understanding of the development prospects in the Sea of ​​Azov.”
