Russia deploys troops to Donbas – General Staff – UNIAN

Russian occupiers they are moving part of the troops and focusing their efforts on establishing full control over the territory of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

This is stated in the published in the social network Facebook operational information of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 12.00.

“The main efforts of the enemy are focused on holding the occupied lines, preparing for the resumption of offensive operations in certain directions and establishing full control over the territory of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. The enemy is taking measures to regroup and form groupings of the armed forces of the Russian Federation in order to conduct an offensive in the Eastern Operational Zone. The transfer of part of the troops and equipment of the enemy from the territory of the Republic of Belarus to the territory of the Russian Federation by rail was recorded.

Also, the General Staff added, the threat of the use of missile weapons by the enemy against the objects of the military-industrial complex and the logistics infrastructure of Ukraine remains. The movement of additional units of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation to the territory of Ukraine to conduct combat operations continues. At the same time, according to the General Staff, individual military units of the enemy have already exhausted their ability to form reserves.

“In the Polesie direction, the enemy’s main efforts are focused on withdrawing units from the territory of Ukraine, restoring their combat capability and, probably, transferring them to other directions. In particular, the enemy is moving units of the 35th, 36th combined arms armies and the 76th air assault divisions of the airborne troops from the Polessky operational area,” the message reads.

The General Staff notes that in order to ensure the withdrawal of troops, the occupiers fire artillery at the positions of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and carry out remote mining of the area with means prohibited by international conventions. In connection with the critical situation, the withdrawal of units of the 35th Combined Arms Army is personally organized by the commander of the army, Lieutenant General Alexander Sanchik.

“According to the available information, during the conduct of hostilities against Ukraine, the losses of the 1st motorized rifle battalion of the 36th separate motorized rifle brigade (military unit 06705, Borzya) of the 29th combined arms army amounted to more than 60% of the personnel,” the statement said.

In the Brovarsky direction, according to the General Staff, the enemy continues to withdraw units, probably to the border regions with the Russian Federation.

Some units remain in positions and checkpoints along transport routes and on the outskirts of temporarily occupied settlements. Carries out mining of terrain and civilian objects.

In the Seversk direction, according to the Headquarters, the enemy is operating with the forces of individual units from the 2nd, 41st combined arms armies and the 90th tank division of the Central Military District. The invaders continue to block and carry out artillery shelling of Chernihiv. They are fixed on the occupied lines and regroup. For the purpose of conducting reconnaissance and adjusting artillery fire, the enemy uses UAVs.

In the Slobozhansky direction, the General Staff adds, the enemy continues to carry out artillery shelling of the city of Kharkov.

In addition, in the direction of Sloviansk, by forces of certain units, the invaders continue to regroup troops and replenish ammunition, fuel and lubricants.

In the Donetsk direction, they are concentrating their main efforts on taking control of the settlements of Popasnaya, Rubizhnoye, as well as capturing the city of Mariupol.

“The enemy has intensified the tasks of air strikes using operational-tactical aviation aircraft against troops and facilities in the areas of the settlements of Lisichansk, Rubizhnoye, Popasnaya, Kremennaya. He made attempts to bypass our units, but had no success,” the message says.

The General Staff adds that the invaders are reinforcing the group in the Donetsk direction. The arrival of railway trains with weapons and equipment at the Rovenki railway station was noted.

In addition, the enemy concentrated its efforts on holding occupied positions in the areas of the settlements of Novozlatopol and Lyubimovka in the Zaporozhye region.

No significant changes were noted in the composition and position of the enemy troops in the Volyn direction. The enemy continues to conduct demonstration operations in the indicated direction.

Earlier it was reported that, according to the Pentagon, Russia has redeployed less than 20% of its troops near Kiev.
