Russia and China conduct joint air exercises / Day

“The Russian Air Force and the People’s Liberation Army Air Force of China conducted another joint patrol in the Asia-Pacific region,” the ministry said in a statement.

Russian Tu-95 strategic bombers and Chinese “Xian H-6” flew over the Sea of Japan and the East China Sea for eight hours.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, who has become a pariah in the West since his February invasion of Ukraine, is seeking to strengthen ties with Asia, especially China.

“For the first time in the history of the air patrol, Russian aircraft landed in the People’s Republic of China, while Chinese aircraft landed on the territory of the Russian Federation,” the ministry said.

Russia is hoping to find common ground with China, as both countries would like to see a change in the US-led global order.

China has not condemned the Russian invasion of Ukraine, but refuses to supply Russia with arms, despite Beijing’s declared unlimited friendship with Moscow.
