President Rumen Radev has had a coronavirus test before his visit to Brussels, where he attended the European Council on June 24th and 25th, and after his return. Both tests are negative.
This was announced for “24 Chasa” by Kiril Atanasov, secretary for media relations of the head of state. He responded to our media after it became clear that Luxembourg’s Prime Minister Xavier Bethel has had a coronavirus since Saturday.
At the European Council meeting in Brussels, all necessary anti-epidemic measures were taken, confirmed Dondukov 2.
During the meeting, Xavier Bethel was in contact with many leaders, including German Chancellor Angela Merkel. The footage also shows him standing close to Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz and European Council President Charles Michel. However, they all wear masks.
Bethel did a test on Sunday, after which the results were confirmed by PCR. He has mild symptoms – fever and headache, and will work remotely as long as he is quarantined for 10 days. The Luxembourg government does not believe that Bethel had close contact with any head of state or government, a spokeswoman for the prime minister said. In the principality, close contact is considered when two or more people are indoors, less than 2 m and without a mask for more than 15 minutes.
A spokesman for Charles Michel stressed that the council’s hygiene rules were observed.
The Prime Minister of Luxembourg received a dose of AstraZeneca vaccine on May 6. Bethel is scheduled to receive a second dose this week.
In connection with the positive test of Bethel “24 hours” sent questions to “Dondukov” 2 concerning the public appearances of Rumen Radev. On Monday, the head of state awarded a plaque “St. St. Cyril and Methodius ”the children’s radio choir of the Bulgarian National Radio for its 60th anniversary.
