Rugby / Pro D2. Perpignan

Two cumulative penalties for the Catalan

Deghmache was sent off in the 40th minute of the match at the Stade des Alpes for having trampled the leg of a Grenoblois, while he was trying to get a ball out of a group in favor of the Blood and Gold. For this gesture “Brutality , trample / step on an opponent ”, the Perpignannais was sanctioned three weeks.

By leaving the field after his red card, Deghmache had also made inappropriate comments towards the referee. Remarks, in the context of the closed session, heard by the officials present at the edge of the field. His words, categorized as “Verbal offenses and provocation”, including “Insults”, earned him three more weeks of suspension.

The two penalties are cumulative and Sadek Deghmache will therefore not be authorized to replay before May 17, 2021. Either after the 30th and last day of Pro D2. But as Perpignan will play, at a minimum, the play-offs, and undoubtedly a direct semi-final, he will be able to play again by the end of the season.

Two insults in two weekends

The suspension of the Catalan also occurs in a particular context. Last weekend, on the 25th day of Pro D2, the Montalbanais insulted the referee of the match Montauban – Carcassonne (10-40). He too risks a heavy suspension and one can imagine that the disciplinary committee wants to “tighten the screw”.

In addition, pinned by the 4th and 5th referees of this match for “contesting the decisions of the match officials”, Patrick Arlettaz, manager of the USAP, received only a warning.
