RTV Noord has completely had it with the indecency on Facebook. The broadcaster is competing with the ‘type choosies’ that pollute the Facebook page of the Groningen channel with swearing guns and threats.

On Monday, January 13, RTV Noord will not publish anything on its Facebook page for a day. Instead, the Groningen broadcaster will enter into discussion with experts and the public during two live broadcasts on Facebook that day. The goal: there must be rules of conduct to keep the reagators in check.
So that the Facebook page of RTV Noord remains protected from texts such as: “The bullet should not have been taken by the church, but by the head of the jandoed that devised this measure.” Or: “Don’t worry,” “Hang that rig.”
In a article on the website of RTV Noord describes the broadcaster how people scold each other and wish for the most terrible things. Things such as Zwarte Piet, peasant protests, migration and climate measures are often hard on.
Grey area
During the first live broadcast, at 11:00 AM, the broadcaster will talk to Jan Brouwer, Professor of General Law, about the legal boundaries. During the second broadcast, at 7 p.m., RTV Noord, together with Annemarie Heite and Willem Groeneveld, are investigating the gray area of reactions on the Facebook page.
During the broadcasts, the Facebook audience can participate by leaving comments. In the evening it is also possible to call the studio.
Measures
It doesn’t just stop talking. RTV Noord opens a new Facebook group. People may only become members of the group if they agree to certain rules of conduct. Reviewers who go over the edge are thrown out of the group.
In addition, the broadcaster will moderate more strictly on its Facebook page. Responses are deleted faster and typo choos are blocked.
