Daughter of the first President of the Republic of Indonesia, Diah Mutiara Sukmawati Soekarnoputri or Sukmawati Soekarnoputri will undergo the Sudhi Wadani procession or move to Hinduism in Bali. The Sudhi Wadani event will be held in the Cultural Heritage Site area, the home of Bung Karno’s mother in Singaraja City.
“Niki (This is) Sudhi Wadani, he changed his religion to his belief, he wants to follow the religion his grandmother embraced in Bale Agung (Singaraja),” said Panglingsir Dadia Pasek Baleagung Singaraja, Made Hardika, to reporters, Saturday (10/23/2021) .
Hardika said Sukmawati Soekarnoputri would undergo a number of rituals during the Sudhi Wadani ceremony. The ritual will start on Monday (25/10) and continue with the main ritual the next day.
He said there were various preparations made by the family at Dadia Pasek Baleagung Singaraja. On Monday (25/10), Sukmawati Soekarnoputri will first take part in the self-cleaning procession or Pangglukatan. After that, Sukmawati will follow the medengen-dengen ritual which also means cleansing.
“So first on the 25th (October), he had to take part in the cleaning first, the panglukatan. After the panglukatan wenten (there) medengen-dengen and the next day there was only a metatah (tooth cutting ceremony) at Bale Agung (Singaraja) on the 26th (October). Sudhi Wadani continued on the 26th,” explained Hardika.
The Sudhi Wadani core ceremony that Sukmawati Soekarnoputri underwent was carried out at the merajan or Dadia Pasek Baleagung Singaraja temple. Later there will be a signing of the letter witnessed by various parties, especially Parisada Hindu Dharma Indonesia (PHDI).
“Itu (Sudhi Wadani) ring (at) rajan and the signing was witnessed by (or) witnesses from Parisada (Hindu Dharma Indonesia) and endorsed by the pinandita who had been appointed by the priest. Finished Sudhi Wadani, the show is over, kenten (that’s it),” explained Hardika.
Nantinya, kata Hardika, prosesi Sudhi Wadani Sukmawati Soekarnoputri will be led by three priests or pastors and one acting ruler Dadia Pasek Baleagung Singaraja. However, Hardika admitted that he did not remember the names of the priests.
Hardika said that the Sudhi Wadani ceremony was only attended by Sukmawati Soekarnoputri. He admitted that he did not know whether Sukmawati Soekarnoputri’s family would attend the event or not.
“Endak (there are others). So far, only Sukmawati has arrived. Yes, I don’t know her arrival yet, but according to Mrs. Sukma, she has already informed the other families. Just whether she can attend or not, I don’t know,” he explained.
