Rouškovné – one-time contribution of 5000 crowns for pensioners

The Chamber of Deputies supported the proposal to provide a contribution of 5,000 crowns to all pensioners in the introductory round. The draft then went to the Social Committee for consideration, which had a month to discuss it instead of the usual two. Finally, the Senate will discuss the proposed provision of a one-time contribution of 5,000 crowns to all pensioners without the opinion of its social committee. There is an amendment at play that would grant an improvement of 6,000 crowns to single women, single people and parents receiving parental allowance.

Who gets a veil?

According to the current draft, all old-age pensioners, all persons receiving a disability pension and persons with a survivor’s pension will receive a one-time contribution of CZK 5,000. That is a total of 2.89 million people. In addition, the possibility remains that the one-time allowance of 6,000 crowns will be given to single mothers, single fathers and parents receiving parental allowance.

When will the contribution of 5000 crowns be paid?

The contribution should be paid at the end of November or in December. However, it depends on when the law on extraordinary one-off contribution will be approved by the Senate. Pensioners should receive a contribution of 5,000 crowns in the same way as a pension, ie on account or by bank slip.

Do pensioners have to apply for a contribution?

According to the bill, pensioners and all those who are entitled to the allowance would not have to apply for a social administration allowance. Those who will receive one of the above-mentioned pensions in November and will continue to be entitled to it should have an extraordinary improvement.

Veils and controversies

Minister of Finance Schiller (YES) objected to the term “veil”. “It simply came to our notice then drapes nor by any populist step of the government, “said the head of the ministry. According to her, the contribution will immediately improve the living standards of pensioners. Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Jana Maláčová (CSSD) identified the contribution to pensioners as an absolute priority. “The bill is not a populist move. It is a compensation for inflation, “said the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs.

Coronavirus and Nursing: Senate Approves Increase

However, it was said from the ranks of the ODS and Pirates that the rise in prices was reflected in the usual legal valorisation mechanism. MP Jan Bauer (ODS) believes that the debate is about whether the government should distribute one-off financial assistance to one group of the population in order to win the election. MP Vlastimil Válek (TOP 09) was interested, among other things, in how the government arrived at the proposed amount.
