A 17-year-old girl has been convicted of driving roughly 179 km / h with the family’s Tesla on June 24 this year.

Published:

The speed limit at the site was 80 km / h.

The girl’s reckless driving without a driver’s license was revealed when a friend sent a video. It was obtained by the police, according to Adresseavisen, who first mentioned the case.

Almost one month after the drive, the police suddenly stood outside the house of the girl and her family. Then the girl had also driven up and had received a driver’s license, according to the verdict.

Should impress the girlfriends

The reason for the rough driving must have been that she was home alone, and wanted to show herself to her friends.

– I was alone at home one day, I was also so stupid and took the car that we had standing at home. I wanted to take my girlfriends out for a drive. We had talked earlier about how much fun it was to drive a Tesla, and how much speed it was, she said in court.

She goes on to say that she drove to McDonalds, and that she was told that Tesla’s acceleration feels like taking off from a plane.

– Then I started to show myself, and took a little extra in the pedal. That was very stupid. It was said in the back of the car how high a speed I had, and as I stepped on the gas. Then I became aware of how fast I was driving, and therefore had to slow down.

She is said to have driven at 179 km / h on Fylkesvei 950 in Trønderlag on 24 June this year.

Declares guilty

The 17-year-old, who has now turned 18, pleaded guilty according to the charge. She is sentenced to 40 hours of community service, which must be completed within 90 days.

At the same time, she is sentenced to the right to a driver’s license for three years, and must pay a fine of 6,000 kroner.

– It’s hard to lose the note, but I want to take my punishment. That’s fine, she said to the judge’s decision.

She describes that the incident and the time afterwards has been a great strain.
