An agent was kicked and bitten in Rotterdam on Tuesday evening after addressing a group of people for being too close together. A thirty-year-old Rotterdammer was arrested on suspicion of mistreatment and attempted manslaughter.
The police received a report about a large group of people on Bellamystraat around 8.15 p.m. When agents wanted to point out the ban on gathering to the people, they turned against them.
One of the officers had to use his baton to stop a man approaching him. His colleague was kicked and bitten.
After the agents used pepper spray, the thirty-year-old Rotterdam citizen could be arrested. He is suspected of mistreatment and attempted manslaughter.
The police say they do not exclude multiple arrests and report the suspect arrested. Further investigation is being conducted into the incident.
