Rosie O’Donnell’s Daughter ‍Sentenced ⁤to Prison: What to Know

Chelsea O’Donnell, the daughter of comedian Rosie O’Donnell, has been sentenced to prison time, US Weekly first reported on Wednesday.

A Wisconsin court filed a ⁤notice ⁤of case status‍ change last week after the 28-year-old​ was accused of violating the ‍terms of her​ probation, according to court documents obtained​ by Newsweek. In a motion to terminate ⁣Chelsea’s participation in the Marinette County Treatment Drug Court Program filed last‌ month,a court official stated Rosie’s ‌daughter was in violation due to sexual ‌assault allegations.

The document states that Chelsea was placed on a ⁤hold through​ the Department of Corrections.

Why It Matters

Chelsea was sentenced earlier‍ this year to six ⁣years of probation after several arrests for ‌drug-related charges.

Rosie told US Weekly in⁤ a statement: “I have compassion for those struggling with addiction-Chelsea ⁣was ​born into addiction‍ and it has been a painful⁢ journey for her ‌and ​her children.”

During sentencing, the court ordered Chelsea⁢ to⁤ have “strict compliance with⁣ terms and ⁤conditions of the Marinette​ County Treatment Drug​ Court ‍Program,” according to court records. She was also ‍ordered to maintain “absolute sobriety.”

In ⁢april, Chelsea was ordered to spend seven days in jail following ​a treatment court hearing. In June,the court ⁤held a hearing regarding a “medication violation.”

At another hearing later that month, the court heard about Chelsea’s ‌”positive⁢ progress.” In July,the court “congratulates” ‍Chelsea.

In August, a hearing addressed ‍”progress but concerns.” Chelsea was ordered to complete‍ 36 hours of community service for being suspended from work⁢ “and will be on lockdown.”

Chelsea was ordered ​to spend two weeks‍ in ⁤jail ​in September and to write an essay on⁣ why she should not be terminated from⁢ the program.

Rosie previously addressed her daughter’s arrests ⁢in ⁢an Instagram post in 2024, writing, “We all​ hope she is able to get the help she needs​ to turn her ⁢life around.”
