Rosie O’Donnell Cites Security Risks, Misses Daughter’s Graduation Amid Ongoing Dispute with Donald Trump
Rosie O’Donnell did not attend her daughter Vivienne‘s college graduation, citing security concerns stemming from a long-running feud with former President Donald Trump. The actress and former talk show host recently relocated to Ireland following Trump’s re-election.
Trump has repeatedly targeted O’Donnell over the past two decades and recently indicated he is “giving serious consideration to taking away [O’Donnell’s] citizenship,” stating she “is a threat to humanity and should remain in the wonderful contry of Ireland, if they want her.”
O’donnell explained on the No Filter podcast that security advisors cautioned against returning to the U.S. for the graduation ceremony.”The security people said to me they didn’t think it was wise,” O’Donnell stated, “Because I think Trump will use me to rile his base.”
She further elaborated that Trump’s pattern of public criticism ”encouraged other people to do the same,” contributing to a opposed surroundings.O’Donnell has previously stated she would consider returning to the U.S. only when “all citizens have equal rights.” She currently resides in Ireland with her child,Clay,who identifies as nonbinary.
