Ron is still getting used to being a grandfather. ‘Especially because my girlfriend Emilie and I have a small one. Our daughter Roos is six years old and she finds it difficult that her older sister has had a baby. As a result, she is now little Job’s aunt and she doesn’t want him. Because the aunts are old and she is not. Plus she doesn’t want him to be a grandfather. Because grandparents are old and die early. I understand very well that everything is very complicated for her. At this age, they have a hard time separating these things. So we very calmly explained that you can also be dad and grandpa at the same time. Other than that, we don’t put too much emphasis on it. It will work out eventually though. Especially when Job is a little older and she starts to see him as a living doll.’
Wedding plans?
While his brother Carlo announced last summer that he would marry his partner Herald, Ron does not yet have that need with Emilie. “I’m certainly not inspired by her marriage proposal. Emilie and I have a lot of fun together. Marriage doesn’t change that. Before Carlo and Herald get married, they will move house. I’m very curious how it goes. Our mother takes care of their four cats every day and she will soon have to go a little further than now. Let alone when they will have other animals, as the Herald would like.’
