Rome Prepares for Youth Jubilee: A Global Gathering of Faith

Rome is set to host the highly anticipated Youth Jubilee, a significant event scheduled to run from July 28 to August 3. This year’s jubilee is expected to draw an estimated 500,000 pilgrims from 146 countries, fostering a global exchange of faith and culture.

The proclamation was made during a press conference where Archbishop Salvatore Reenu Fisichella, along with Propagation Archbishop Salvatore Reenu and Prefect Lambiree, shared details of the extensive preparations. The event aims to connect young people from diverse backgrounds, encouraging them to embrace the spiritual call articulated by Pope John Paul II.

Pilgrims will be accommodated in 280 parishes and hosted by families throughout the city, ensuring a welcoming experience. A variety of programs are planned across Rome to engage attendees.

Key events include a large gathering on July 28, where pilgrims will not be transported to Rome but will instead be welcomed by local parishes and families.On August 1, approximately 200 priests will be available at the Circo Massimo to administer the sacrament of confession. Additionally, young volunteers will participate in ministry on the outskirts of Rome.
