Romanian Prime Minister Ludovic Orbán paid a hefty fine of around € 620 on Saturday for failing to comply with the corona measures and violating the smoking ban in his country.
A photo of a cabinet meeting was circulated on social media where Orbán and some ministers did not wear a face mask and did not keep their distance. In Romania, wearing a face mask is mandatory in public transport and closed areas.
According to state news agency Agerpres In addition to Orbán, the ministers present were also fined for not wearing a mask. However, the fine for Orbán is higher because it can be seen that he smokes a cigarette. Smoking indoors has been banned in Romania since 2016.
