Administrator of Restos du Coeur, Romain Colucci started his day at cooking school instruction manual, at the Fontaine d’Ouche.
The Restos have just signed a partnership with this school founded on the initiative of Thierry Marx. Twice a week, apprentice bakers offer 200 baguettes prepared by them to the beneficiaries. “A real blessing” comments Jean-Denis Barroy.
Fear of a second wave … social
Coluche’s son went to two centers in the Dijon metropolitan area: those of “Dijon nord”, and “Dijon Sud”. The latter is now operating at full capacity after two and a half months of confinement. Everywhere, he wanted to congratulate the volunteers for all the work accomplished during the crisis. The coronavirus did not prevent the continuation of the missions. With more than 600 people registered in Côte-d’Or, the number of beneficiaries did not drop during containment.
Volunteers fear that the worst will come. Romain Colluci explains: “At Restos du Coeur, as in other charities, we are now afraid of the second wave … social this time”. A fear shared by Jean-Denis Barroy: “For the moment we are on figures similar to last year, but we have seen new people coming: students, young people, employees, single mothers with their children. There were many children. We are very worried about the future. We expect a huge influx in the coming months. “

Vote of a new tax abatement in the Senate
On April 23, the Senate voted an amendment which increases the amount of the “Coluche” scheme from 537 to 1,000 euros. Which allows to deduct from taxes 75% of the sums paid to associations for the year 2020. Volunteers campaign for this device to be sustainable.
