GTA 5 Online’s “Money Fronts” Update Launches June 17
Get ready to build a criminal empire! The “Money Fronts” update for Grand Theft Auto Online lets players establish legitimate businesses to launder illicit gains. This new gameplay element mirrors the style of popular crime dramas, promising exciting new possibilities.
Laundering Empire
The upcoming “Money Fronts” update will allow players to acquire and run storefronts to hide their criminal operations. The initial point of entry into this new business venture is the Hands On Car Wash in Strawberry. Players will team up with new advisors, guided by Martin Madrazo, to manage operations and expand their money laundering empire.
Expanding their business portfolio, players can also include establishments such as the “Smoke on the Water” dispensary and “Higgins Helitours.” These businesses will not only assist in laundering money but will also boost earnings from existing criminal ventures like weed farms and air freight cargo.
“Money laundering is a significant issue, with estimates suggesting that billions of dollars are laundered annually through various methods.”
— Expert in Financial Crime
The illegal activities associated with these fronts will generate “Heat,” attracting unwanted attention from law enforcement. This requires players to balance their criminal dealings and their legitimate business management to keep the passive income flowing while avoiding scrutiny. The number of money laundering cases in the United States rose by 27% in the last fiscal year (FinCEN 2024).
New Vehicles and Enhancements
The Money Fronts update also introduces several new vehicles. Players can expect to see the Karin Everon RS (SUV), the Declasse Tampa GT (Muscle Car), and the Western Police Bike (for Dispatch Work missions).
Rockstar is also including various quality-of-life improvements in this update. These include the addition of Missile Lock-On Jammer support for 50 more vehicles, an option to skip certain cutscenes when replaying missions, doubled Arena Points earnings, and increased delay for global signals during public Sell Missions. Also, the Boxville van will be removed from Biker Sell Missions.
With these new features, players can look forward to an immersive experience. The blend of legitimate business management and criminal activities promises an engaging and dynamic gameplay loop in the world of GTA Online.
