Rockets fall near US embassy in Baghdad – Offfield

At least two artifacts hit the so-called Green Zone

Several rockets will have crashed near the US embassy in Baghdad, Iraq, this Sunday. News is being advanced by major news agencies and news site Al arabiya, which point to two to six Katyusha missiles.

It’s the second consecutive day where the embassy is the target of rocket attacks, always falling in the Green Zone, a reinforced security area where government buildings and diplomatic missions are located.

The fall of the rockets comes after the death of Iranian general Qassem Soleimani following an air raid on Iraq’s Baghdad international airport on Friday, which the Pentagon said was ordered by the President of the United States, Donald Trump.

In the same attack also died the ‘number two’ of the coalition of pro-Iranian paramilitary groups in Iraq, Abu Mehdi al-Muhandis, known as Popular Mobilization. [Hachd al-Chaabi], plus six other people.

The attack came three days after an unprecedented two-day assault on the US embassy that only ended when Trump announced the deployment of another 750 soldiers to the Middle East.
