Early Life and Education
Born August 5, 1977, in Erie, Pennsylvania, to Gary and Patricia (Vance) Post, Robyn Post demonstrated a lifelong pursuit of knowledge and a dedication to service.He was a proud graduate of North East High School, laying the foundation for a diverse and impactful career. Post continued his education at Mercyhurst University, earning a Liberal Arts Degree with a focus on Graphic Design – a testament to his creative inclinations.
Driven by a desire to help others, Post embarked on a path in healthcare, first obtaining his Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) degree and subsequently achieving his Registered Nurse (RN) credentials from Cuyahoga Community College in Ohio. This rigorous training equipped him with the skills and compassion to excel in a demanding profession.
A Career Dedicated to Care
Post’s nursing career began at the renowned Cleveland Clinic, where he honed his clinical skills and gained valuable experience. He than embraced the challenges and rewards of travel nursing, taking his expertise to Tucson, Arizona, broadening his viewpoint and serving diverse patient populations. Most recently, Post dedicated his talents to the Erie County Health Department as a public health nurse, working on the front lines to protect and improve the well-being of his local community.
His commitment to public health is particularly noteworthy given the ongoing challenges facing healthcare systems nationwide. Public health nurses play a crucial role in preventative care, disease management, and community outreach – a role Post embraced with dedication.
Beyond the Uniform: A Life Fully Lived
Those who knew Robyn Post remember him not only for his professional accomplishments but also for his vibrant personality and zest for life. Affectionately nicknamed “Bird” and “Buzz” by close friends, he possessed a marvelous sense of humor and an adventurous spirit.He found joy in a wide range of pursuits, including art and culture, particularly the rich symbolism of Dia De Los Muertos (Day of the Dead).
Post was also a fitness enthusiast, regularly working out at the gym, and took pride in maintaining his yard. He nurtured his artistic side by studying both keyboard and drums, and embraced the chance to travel and experience new cultures. His love for animals was evident in his devotion to his feline companions, Maddy, an 18-year-old cat, and Bosley.
“Robyn lived life to the fullest,” a close friend shared, reflecting on his unwavering optimism and enthusiasm.
Remembering Robyn
Robyn James Post is survived by his parents, Gary and Patricia Post of Erie, Pennsylvania; his brother, Randy L. Post (Carolyn); niece, Samantha Post; nephews, Alex and Caleb post; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and his beloved cat, Maddy.
Private funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to NAMI (National alliance on Mental Illness), located at 1611 Peach Street, Suite 218, Erie, PA 16501.
